Since ancient times in a small spot of the island of Sardinia called Ogliastra, people use to eat a local wild honey called Corbezzolo Honey from the strawberry tree plant. This honey is considered to be one of the component of their diet that allowed them to live a long and healthy life in the island of centenary people.
PURE SARDINIAN STRAWBERRY TREE HONEY
125 grams (4.4 Oz)
Packaged with professional Anti UV Glass jars to protect the honey
We are a growing community of sardinian beekeepers that have decided to put their forces together in order to face these tough times: climate change, intensive agriculture, chemical usage for treating bees are destroying our ecosystems and we are committed in protecting it.
We only produce organic honeys, no chemicals are admitted in our apiaries to treat the bees. We respect the bees first of all and we respect also our customers providing them only the best strawberry tree honey we produce: no mix with other honeys are admitted.
We select only the strawberry tree honey: sometimes, depending on the year, it can happen that other flowers can bloom in the same time of the strawberry tree. In this case we cut the production and we select only the pure bitter honey.
We don't allow any artifical feeding for our bees: we let the nature make its job in order to give the best food ever for them. We prefer to reduce our production to protect our bees and treat them properly.

Used in traditional medicine as a sleep inducer, cough sedative and anti-diarrheal, thanks to its astringent and anti-inflammatory properties, it could also be anti-tumoral: A 2019 study conducted by researchers at the Polytechnic University of the Marche and the Universities of Vigo and Granada in Spain, published in the Journal of Functional Foods, concluded that corbezzolo honey reduces growth and division of colon cancer cells grown in the lab.
